The Woman in Black
“The Woman in Black” written by Susan Hill and adapted for stage by Stephen Mallatratt was directed by Derek Jensen for the Depot Theater’s performances December 3-18, 2010. Hill set out to write a classic ghost story that included a haunted place like a lonely house or church, an appropriate atmosphere, weather, a ghost, and a reason for the ghost to haunt people. Mallatratt created the script for a small cast with a simple set, inventing a structure to bring Hill’s story to the stage with only 2 actors and a mysterious woman who never speaks. The performance ran at the Depot Theater on February 11 – 26, 2011.
