A native of Oklahoma, I played college basketball while I earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees at Central State University. My doctorate in Higher Education Administration was earned at the University of Oklahoma and led to a career in higher ed which is what led me to my post as Vice president of Administration and Finance at Dodge City Community College. The Depot Theater invited me to join the board to help strengthen our performance in the area of finances and reporting and since I have a CPA, experience as a chief financial officer and degreed in accounting and business, I thought I might be able to help.
One of – if not the — most formative experiences of my live was surviving the Oklahoma City bombing. After that, I devoted my life to serving others. I’m married, have two children, one granddaughter and a dog. I enjoy reading history, fiction, mystery, and classic works of literature and in my spare time, I recently wrote and published a book titled “The Ring of Avalon.”
I could tell you about my love of sports since I’ve coached, officiated and even broadcast sports, I think you might rather know about my profound love of various genres of music since I’ve written lyrics, performed in may venues and even created works of art for several institutions throughout my career. And, if it’s not music I’m performing, I love to act theater productions, although I’ve yet to have the time to audition for the Depot stage.
