Red Ink in the Summertime

July 19 - July 21

Red Ink in the Summertime by local talent Murray Reiman is a murder-mystery farce play set in Cambridge, Massachusetts, on June 5, 1974. It revolves around a gathering at the mansion of Jonathan Alfred Neighbors, a 70-year-old author celebrating the anniversary of his first published book and having a reveal party for his newest book. The story unfolds with characters including his sister Helena, her friend Professor Eleanor Elegante, and guests like the publisher Ozwald Minceman, Dr. Klaus Schumann, and Elvana DeGraisse. The dinner goes well in the beginning until Jonathan dies at the table from poisoning. During this hot July night, a storm brews above the manor and causes a tree to fall and trap all the dinner guests inside. They are left with no other option but to solve the mystery of J. A. Neighbors, revealing secrets hidden years ago that might expose the killer. Trigger warning: depiction of suicide.
