Black Comedy
October 14, 1993 - November 6, 1993
Black Comedy studies the effect of loss of light would have on a group of people who hold things from each other. Set in London during an electrical blackout and opening with a dinner party on a dark stage, the play is written to be staged in reversed lighting – so when the blackout occurs, the lights actually come up and the characters are seen floundering about appearing to be invisible to each other. Hence the “pun” title – Black Comedy.
